Description
This is a 103 with lots and lots of history. Gold brass, partial lacquer, fixed bell.
It is not new! We think it dates from the 1920s, possibly the 30s.
This could even have played alongside Dennis Brain!
Like a vintage motor car this horn is not without its idiosyncrasies but makes a beautiful rich sound. Even though this horn has low valve pressure, with regular tinkering with oils and greases etc this still has plenty of nice playing ahead of it. The perfect horn for the Mendelssohn “Nocturno“…
