Description
We love this horn.
Built in June 1974 when Paxman were in full flow making top quality horns solely in the UK. It is a genuine handmade English instrument of the finest quality. Gold brass, fixed bell, unlacquered. This is in the old style pre 1985 wrap with a Medium bell – slightly larger than a modern medium in size.
Valve pressure is still pretty good.
It plays with a huge velvety sound with background notes of sizzle. Smooth unctuous slurs.
We are loathe for this one to leave the workshop but it needs to be played and loved!
