Description
This Paxman 23 is in Yellow brass, with fixed bell, europa bore, miniball, brass valves. However has been cosmetically damaged whilst being stored in a bonna case – a problem which we see fairly regularly now.
To be clear bonnas are fantastic for everyday use and we do not advise against them but especially with those made before around 2005 do not store horns for any length without opening the case periodically to allow air to refresh.
This has caused fairly extensive dezincification leaving pink marks in the brass.
The horn cannot be sold at full price, so this is an opportunity to own a top class horn at a cheap price.
We guarantee the valves are excellent, but the cosmetic appearance will never be improved and may deteriorate a little over time.
That said this horn plays beautifully and very freely indeed with well slotted notes.
