Raoux –  Millereau

F, E, Eb, (spare F)

Minstrel Case

Description

Raoux were considered to be the top class horn makers of their day and this is an example of their work. A historic horn.

In yellow brass this is a Raoux Millereau made at Rue d’Angouleme between 1885 and 1895. It is a piston horn with 4 crooks, Givng the keys F, E and Eb.  A spare F crook is included, but as is often the case the battered F crook is the one that plays well!

The case is not original but has the potential to hold the horn and a full set of crooks.

From the collection of the esteemed ex 4th horn of the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Chris Larkin
