Description
This is a very early Paxman 23, built on 1998. Lovingly played for many years by the Angus West, former principal horn for the Welsh National Opera, this horn with its combination of Large bell taper and the open wrap of the model 23 make this one of the most free blowing Paxman’s available.
This horn has light titanium valves, really good valve pressure, a duck’s foot, lacquer (unlacquered mouthpipe). The body of the horn is made from yellow brass with the mouthpipe and flare in gold brass, adding a little more warmth to the tone of the instrument. The best thing is the amount of opera repertoire is knows – Wagner and Puccini notes put in it already!
It comes with a nice neat Bonna MB8 case.
