Description
Paxman’s flagship double was the model 20. This is a model 21, so it does all that a 20 does but with the addition of a stopping valve. (Also allowing for cheat transposition into E, but we can’t possibly condone this sort of behaviour…?!)
In Large bore and with plated up valves, this has excellent valve compression so feels like a powerful instrument, well able to hold its own in a horn section. Yellow brass, unlacquered. It has been played professionally in an Opera orchestra for the last 30 years.
