Description
This Paxman 40 Bb/F alto descant horn is a large bore (bell taper) instrument made in 1972 and therefore in the old-style – the much-respected design of Bob Paxman and Dick Merewether.
Built in gold brass this instrument will help the player produce a warm tone. The large bell has an original hand engraved Paxman logo and a detachable flare. As it has never been re-lacquered, the lacquer on this instrument is quite worn and it comes with suitcase a style screw bell case.
The valve pressures on this horn are on the low side without significantly impacting the way it plays , this aspect is reflected in the price.
