The Paxman Studenti compensating double horn is great horn for a beginner or as a first compensating double. This example is unlacquered with a fixed bell and a hard fixed bell case.

Don’t be put off due to the unlacquered finish, these horns play very well and better than some of the shiny horns on the market! With a little elbow grease and some brasso this one will come up looking very nice indeed.
