The Yamaha 666N is a large bore, nickel instrument in the same vein as popular American horns from the mid to late 20th century.
Although this style of horn may be more of a challenge for some younger players who are not used to large bore horns to use, those that do own and play them are huge fans of the big sound and tone these instruments are capable of helping a player to make. If you love that full, late 20th century Hollywood sound, then this horn is definitely worth your consideration.
This is a lacquered instrument, although much of this lacquer has been lost during its lifetime. There are a few patches near the large “napkin ring” ferrule, but generally this horn is in decent condition with good valve pressures. Handily converted to screw bell, this horn comes with a Bags style screw bell, backpack case.
