Single Bb

Rose gold

Fixed bell

Circa 1940

This is a very pretty little single Bb horn with quite the story.

It was made in East Germany pre war. It was then imported by a military player who had a beautifully engraved shield badge soldered over the logo so that he could import it without paying duty. He always maintained to his family that it was an Alex. Some 60 years later the removal of the shield (which they have kept for sentimental reasons) proved otherwise!

Very unusually this is in rose gold – so an even darker horn in sound and colour than a standard gold brass horn. This is from a less common maker but the dark sound makes it really quite interesting.
