Description
The Paxman 42 is a very unusual but really quite versatile horn that will suit a high player!
It has a standard F alto side paired with a Bb side that features the third valve ascending system. What this means in practice is that the third valve on the Bb horn acts as a C valve allowing for fantastic top As. On the F alto horn the third valve is descending as usual. This combination allows for fantastic security in the high register
It also has a stopping valve
This horn dates from 1984 is medium bore and made from nickel silver. Some lacquer wear but very good valve compression.
This is well worth a try if you want to be secure at the top!
